I’m a self-taught home baker turned-professional. And boy has it been a jOuRnEy.

I grew up in a house that valued baking and saddled up to the kitchen counter as soon as I could reach (y’all got cookie dough up here?).

My mom fostered my interest in baking and probably tipped over into unhealthily enabling…how else would I have become an adult with $400 worth of artisanal sprinkles in my house?

I put in years of work shaking off a superiority complex which flourished after being diagnosed gifted at a young age. This paired nicely with my deep seated insecurities about, let’s be honest, everything.

Pre-Orlandough, I felt the need to take everything very seriously, follow all the rules, judge others before they judged me, and, most importantly NEVER. MESS. UP.

But then I started a business.

While running Orlandough, I messed up. A LOT. But the funniest thing happened, no one held me to the same unreasonable standards to which I was holding myself.

Me, Myself, and I was really killing the vibe. I mean I was making donuts for a living—this was supposed to be fun! It was time to chill TF out and tune into the positives.

I’ve met so many people while running a business and it’s shown me I wasn’t alone in these weird hang-ups that caused me to turn something fun into a pass/fail test of my worthiness as a human.

In this Pinterest-Perfect era, I want to make a judgement-free zone where there are no dumb questions and crafting treats you’re proud of is made approachable.

Let’s have some fun!

There are plenty of serious subjects but it’s time to lower the stakes when it comes to baking. I know you want to make something that tastes good and looks cute. I’m positive we can accomplish that together and have a good time doing it!
